OURS IS A LOST GENERATION By Adetunji ADEDEJI I see my generation destroying the pillars that support the stability of my dearest country "NIGERIA". I see Nigeria becoming a banana tree. When a banana tree produces fruit and the fruit turns ready for harvesting, the banana tree meets its death from that moment because the tree becomes perish when the fruit is offloaded from the tree. Ours is a lost generation and could be described as a banana fruit on the tree that produces it. Ours is a generation that has come to send Nigeria to her early grave and with no mercy for the labour of our past heroes. This morning, i woke up to see my generation running after vanity. I see my generation neglecting what had earlier been embraced by our past heroes who brought our nation the freedom we enjoy today. My generation suddenly becomes a generation that does not seek to choose its role model from the midst of those whom have lost their lives in the real struggles for freedom...

GRACE IN THE EVIL

Image
"When I challenge myself on why things fall apart and strange things occur in my journey towards achieving the best I aim for, an internal voice mentioned to my senses that I will never achieve the best if I can't prepare to experience the worst from mankind. The voice mentioned to my senses how I should always appreciate those from whom I may experience the worst because they are the ones reshaping my thinking and reminding me why some basic things cannot be achieved in some basic ways. And when I am helped to refocus, that is only when I can become a successful man"-Adetunji ADEDEJI

"HABA, DO YOU NEED TO BE TOLD WHY FOOD PRICES ARE HIGH?"-AKOREDE CRIES OUT TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

Image
Akorede I have just read about a task force being set up by the federal government at its statutory weekly federal executive council meeting yesterday to look at the ways of bringing down prices of foods in the country, with a view to ensuring food security. Haba, do we need to be told why food prices are high, and to the extent that food at the rate we are going in Nigeria will become luxury and won't be a basic need in Nigeria again. We might begin to have a day meal and a day of fasting. Erroneously, most quantitative food economists keep attributing the present situation to an inverse relationship between food production and consumption in the country. Yes, the  microeconomic theory is certainly right. Governments at all levels, the federal government in particular should do everything possible to make foods available and affordable to Nigerians. The present food crises is brought about by high cost of production. I will only consider just 3 out of about 20 major reason...

DON'T LEAVE OUT PRINCIPLE

DON'T LEAVE OUT PRINCIPLE- BY ADETUNJI ADEDEJI Be careful of what you say YES to. A good leader must be a good listener. At times, a good leader rests his back to watch opinion formed in a   very complex gathering.  However, unworthy is he who allows words to be fixed on his tongue leaving out self principles and ideologies for the acceptance of external opinion. Remember, when self principles and ideologies are left out while entering into a deal, personality is no more because your image looses every immunity to resist attack as at the time your image is being crucified by the owner of the former opinion that passes through you to the public. No doubt, every man is responsible for his action no matter the number of people involved in the pre-action stage. Being stubborn and rigid at the point of deal making as a result of principles and ideologies may bring enemity, however, such is better because it prevents unavoidable future crucification. Remember, your best fr...
