Agidigbo!

Agidigbo is a drum made in Africa and is a symbol of discreet and secret communication by the people; especially among the Yoruba speaking nations of West Africa. The drum was, and is still an effective medium to pass messages between allies both in peace and war times. The messages were always coded and can only be decoded by the discerning and the initiates.   Therefore, agidigbo can be regarded as a harbinger of information. A unique and peculiar feature of the AGIDIGBO is that the messages are not direct – the messages are coated and clothed in proverbs!   It is a great source of cultural value awareness for any Yoruba young generation with core interest in the Yoruba cultural heritage and this makes AGIDIGBO to be very didactic in nature.   Where this is found, there is always a great display of wisdom by its handler.
